A unique gate between Europe and Asia, Turkey is bounded by Georgia to the North, Armenia and Iran to the East, Syria and Iraq to the South and Greece and Bulgaria to the West. Turkey's total size is 296.185 square miles, surrounded by 5.000 miles of coastline. Many visitors are surprised by the beauty of its beaches: from Black Sea and Marmara Sea in the North to the Aegean Sea in the West and the Mediterranean Sea in the South.

In accordance with the region, climate conditions are quite different. The mountainous region at the East is usually quite cool, especially in the evening. Due to the beautiful green cover of the region, The Black Sea Coast is the rainiest and most humid region in Turkey, however, the Anatolian plateau is dry, dusty and hot. The South Aegean is the mildest region, sunnier and warmer than the Marmara region. Besides heavily snow in the East and the Anatolian region, Istanbul gets snow for a short period in the winter and it is better to be prepared if your plan of traveling is during this period.
