Introduction to the Blue Voyage

Considering the coastal length and beauties of Turkey, yachting is a joyful and relaxing way of traveling along the coasts. You will not only have the chance to snorkel and windsurf on secluded beaches, but also see a side of Turkey which most travelers miss - the small towns and villages or even ruins of ancient settlements. While the crew is taking care of sailing and cooking, you have the chance of lounging on the deck under the sunshine feeling the beauty of the passing scenery. When your boat anchored you will have the opportunity to water-skiing, skin-diving, fishing, walking in the woods or shopping in local markets.

For the blue voyage along the southern coasts of Turkey "Gullets" are generally preferred. "Gullets" is a yacht typically built of pine wood and styled with pointed fore and round aft. They have 4 to 8 cabins with double beds and they are equipped with one or two masts, but due to their weight gullets are not made for deluxe vacations nor for racing. They are suitable for cruising and are functional boats that reach a speed of  ten knots at best. They are very comfortable and have wide sun decks, aft deck with cushioned lounge area and small bathrooms with shower. The vacation on a gullet is the opportunity to relax and enjoy the often inaccessible places by land.

The best time of the year to spend your holiday on a "gullet" is :

June and September are hot enough to tan without burning , ideal mix of sea breeze, salt and sun while sailing along the shores of Aegean and Mediterranean Sea.
July and August are recommended months of those who wish to swim any time of day and night, for sun worshippers.
May and October expose that serene beauty of nature. The silent period of coves and beaches.

Throughout the trip along the costs of Aegean and Mediterranean Sea you will see remains of theaters, markets, churches, rock tombs and towns of Lydian, Lycian, Carian, Ionian, Dorian, Hellenic and Roman civilizations, besides little towns where you will admire the local arts and handicrafts.

Below are the descriptions and prices of gullets and possibilities of programs which will give you an idea of the blue voyage. Different size of boats and yachts are available upon clients' requests. You should not forget that this sort of trip gives people the chance to extend their travel plans with a flight connection to Istanbul, Ankara or a short distance transfer to nearest tourist centers such as Izmir, Kusadasi or Antalya for a few days visit of historical sites.
